Project Description:
The Genentech Campus Masterplan outlines the long-term development and infrastructure framework for a 10,000-person life sciences campus in South San Francisco. As Civil Engineering Manager, we led an options analysis for the site-wide energy distribution network, evaluating strategies to support scalable, resilient, and cost-effective energy infrastructure.
Our work included assessing phased implementation aligned with Genentech’s projected growth and fiscal goals, ensuring that utility investments could be optimized over time. The analysis accounted for operational efficiency, redundancy, and future expansion while maintaining flexibility for new research and manufacturing facilities. The result was a roadmap for integrated utility delivery that supported both immediate needs and long-term innovation capacity.
