Project Description:
The Downtown West Mixed-Use Plan is a transformative urban district surrounding San Jose’s Diridon Station—conceived as Google’s new public-facing capital in the heart of Silicon Valley. As the Development and Infrastructure Executive, we oversaw the delivery of a $2 billion infrastructure program supporting over 80 acres of mixed-use development including commercial, residential, civic, and open space.
Our responsibilities spanned the strategic planning, design, and implementation of city-scale infrastructure: multimodal transportation networks, utility corridors, energy distribution systems, and a central utility plant. We led integration with architectural and public realm designs to ensure alignment between the ground plane and vertical development while advancing sustainable urban systems.
Operating under California’s AB900 streamlined environmental review process, we played a central role in entitlement negotiations, public engagement, and permit approvals. We managed a multidisciplinary team of over 150 AEC professionals through sensitive planning and construction phases to deliver a major addition to the Bay Area’s urban fabric.
